Bhanusingher Padabali
An Homage to Rabindranath Tagore | June 14, 2025

“Bhanusingher Padabali” is a soulful collection of devotional songs written by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore at the tender age of 16. This anthology was compiled and published in 1884 under the pseudonym “Bhanusingha.” These deeply profound songs explore themes of spiritual love and the relationship between devotee and deity, focusing particularly on the eternal love story of Krishna and Radha. Written in the style of traditional Vaishnava poets, the songs reflect the rich devotional and lyrical traditions of Bengal.
